Research is how I found a way to live my answer to the question of ‘What do you want to do when you grow up?‘; I always said I wanted to “learn what I want to learn”. Understanding how our brain works, and how it and its functions are affected by the world around us, as well as the one inside us, has always fascinated me. Beyond this initial interest, my postdoctoral work has seen the extra complexity added by examining these functions within a developmental context scratch an intellectual itch like nothing else.

My research goals build from these interests, and as such I focus on questions that target cognitive development across both childhood and adolescence, and how this intersects with an individual’s behavior, mental health, and other developmental outcomes.
